Does a Keyword in Your Domain Name Help SEO?
Contrary to popular belief, having a keyword in your domain name will not help your web page rank for that keyword.
As stated by Google’s John Mueller:
Just because a website has a keyword in its domain name doesn’t mean that it’s more relevant than others for that keyword.
In short, you don’t need to put keywords in the domain name.
This is contradiction to what Wix says on their blog, which by the way still ranks high for ‘Wix SEO’:
And lastly, it’s a great idea to include your main keyword, if possible. This may increase your chances for coming up in the search results for your chosen word.
